Loading page contentDigital workforce management platform for construction, replacing paper timesheets and manual processes with a mobile-first attendance and task management system.
Construction sites in Cyprus and across the Mediterranean operate with workforce management processes that have barely changed in decades. Attendance is recorded on paper timesheets collected at the end of each day or week. Task assignments are communicated verbally or scrawled on whiteboards. Site managers have no real-time view of which workers are on which site, what tasks have been completed, or how actual hours compare to planned schedules.
A&A Apostolides Contractors & Developers, one of Cyprus's largest construction firms with over 30 years of operations and 118 employees spread across multiple active sites, approached Techlink with a clear problem: their administrative team was spending hours every week manually reconciling paper timesheets with payroll, chasing down missing records, and resolving disputes about hours worked. Site managers had no tools beyond phone calls and physical site visits to track progress.
The industry needed a solution built specifically for construction — not a generic HR tool adapted for the field, but a platform designed for the reality of construction sites: outdoor use, intermittent connectivity, workers who may not be tech-savvy, and the need for speed over complexity. The project was selected for co-funding through the IDEK Innovation Vouchers programme, confirming its innovation potential.
Techlink embedded with Apostolides' site managers and administrative staff to map every workforce management workflow, from morning check-in through daily task assignment, progress reporting, and end-of-week payroll reconciliation. We conducted on-site sessions at active construction projects to understand the practical constraints: direct sunlight on screens, dusty and wet conditions, workers wearing gloves, and the need for a check-in process that takes seconds, not minutes.
We chose React Native for the mobile app to cover both iOS and Android from a single codebase, with a C#/.NET Core backend hosted on Microsoft Azure. The architecture was designed as a SaaS platform from the start, so that after validating the solution with Apostolides, it could be offered to other construction companies across Cyprus and the wider region.
SiteFlow consists of a React Native mobile app for site managers and a web-based admin dashboard for company administrators. The mobile app handles digital check-in and check-out for all workers, task creation and assignment with status tracking, progress reporting with photo documentation, and issue flagging with location tagging. Site managers can see their full crew status at a glance and update records in real time.
The admin dashboard provides a centralised view across all sites, showing worker allocation, attendance summaries, task completion rates, and project progress. Attendance data feeds directly into payroll, eliminating the manual reconciliation that was consuming hours of administrative time each week. Historical data gives management the ability to analyse workforce utilisation patterns and make better staffing decisions.
